Godiva Festival - Healthy Lifestyles
NHS Coventry staff spent a summer weekend engaging with thousands of festival goers at the UK’s biggest free festival. Coventry’s Godiva Festival attracts more than 85,000 people over its three days each year, and the city’s primary care trust was out in force to encourage festival goers to consider their health and find out more about local services.
Over the weekend almost 2,000 people completed health surveys that explored barriers and aspirations around healthy eating and exercise. The findings have been used to inform the PCT’s Healthy Weight Strategy for Adults and Children.
During the event, the NHS Coventry team spoke to hundreds of parents and children about the importance of immunisation and vaccinations, as well as engaging with people around stop smoking and alcohol – with the chance to wear beer goggles proving popular with festival goers.
