Best Health for Everyone

The Coventry Health Improvement Programme (CHIP) is a three year partnership project between Coventry City Council and NHS Coventry. The programme aims to improve the health of Coventry citizens and reduce the Health Inequalities in different areas of the city.

CHIP aims to achieve this through a wide variety of projects focusing on improving peoples' lifestyles by reducing behaviour that increase the likelihood of disease and premature death. There are nine major projects as part of CHIP and these can be seen on the CHIP webpage.

The programme is worth £18million, funded by the NHS and strategically led in partnership with Coventry City Council. However, many other public sector and voluntary sector organisations are involved in the delivery of the nine major project strands.

The CHIP programme support office is based within the Council and decisions are made at the CHIP programme board chaired by Joint Director of Public Health Caron Grainger.

In the CHIP Directory directory, you can see the range of services on offer and pick the ones youfancy. You may want to take part in a programme now, or keep hold of the directory forideas in the future. The best bit is, most of our services are free.

If you think there are any activities taking place in your department that could work in collaboration with CHIP then please contact the Programme Management Office below.
