Sub-Groups
The Workforce Locality Stakeholder Board has four sub-groups beneath it to support the Board in it’s work. All organisations are invited to have a representative on the sub-groups and the Chairs are members of the Board. The sub-groups are as follows:
Education Commissioning and Quality sub-group
The Education, Commissioning and Quality sub-group works collaboratively to facilitate robust education planning, Commissioning and quality assurance of education for registered non medical education groups.
Leadership and Management sub-group
The Leadership & Management sub-group works collaboratively to influence and raise the profile of leadership and management development strategically and operationally within the locality.
Widening Participation
The Widening Participation sub-group works collaboratively to promote access to healthcare careers and subsequent progression within the NHS.
Workforce Planning
The Workforce Planning sub-group works collaboratively to foster effective workforce management and development across the locality.
- Commissioning
Process by which the health needs of the local population are identified. Priorities for investment are set and appropriate services are purchased and evaluated. Primary Care Trusts do not provide all of the healthcare services needed by the local population, they buy-in or commission services from other provider organisations. Typically this includes local hospitals.
