Some triggers that can cause this are:
- Moving house or starting at a new school
- Death of a friend or a family member
- Break down of relationships
- Pressure from exam stress
- Bullying
- Parents splitting up or divorcing
- Serious illness or long term sick
- Peer pressure
- Skin problems
- Money issues
- Domestic Violence and Abuse
Some ways you can help yourself:
- Exercise - go for a walk, swim or join a gym
- Have a healthy diet - this can help to improve your energy and skin
- Sleep - try and relax and have enough
- Avoid alcohol as this can exaggerate the mood of feeling down!

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) are a comprehensive range of services that provide help and treatment to children and young people experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties, or mental health problems, disorders and illnesses. These services are available to children and young people up to their 17th birthday. Referral is through professionals such as GPs and educational psychologists.
